After failing to convince web designers and consumers, Microsoft rebased Edge on Chromium, the same underlying engine that powers Google Chrome. Microsoft previously based Edge on the EdgeHTML rendering engine, which was buggy and inefficient. When it comes to browsers, Microsoft has rightly earned a terrible reputation because of Internet Explorer.
